What I do
I create games for ios, Android, Kindle, and Nook. In order to do so, I have to design, create art for, and program these games. For the art, I use Inkscape, which is an amazing, free illustrator tool. As for the programming, I use Corona SDK, which allows me to easily develop cross-platform games for free. I also develop other pieces of software of varying style, utility, and purpose.
How I Got Started
I started programming in eighth grade, when I was 12 years old. Initially, I programmed in Python, solving simple problems with no GUI. After about a year or so of that, I started using Tkinter in Python, allowing me to start using graphics. However, I wanted to start developing games that I could get people to actually play, and thus, discovered Corona SDK. I have been using Corona ever since, and have not looked back once.
My Programming Experience
I have experience in mainly four languages: LUA, Java, Python, and Objective-C. My strongest language is LUA, as that is the language used with Corona SDK. I started out using Python, so I may be a little rusty, but my knowledge is still there. I have taken the AP CS course in Java and have also created my own programs using Java and OpenGL. As for Objective-C, I have built a few simple iOS apps, none of which I have released, however. Also, I took a course in basic HTML and CSS.
Now I am at UC Berkeley where I am delving into more complex subjects. Currently I am enrolled in CS61A, the Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, as well as an online course in Machine Learning taught by a Stanford professor.
